Dining at the Maison Bellachonne is an enjoyable experience for all our guests, with freshly-prepared home-made Dining table at Maison Bellachonnedishes made with seasonal produce or from local producers at Bellac’s own weekly markets. Enjoy an aperitif  before sitting down to dinner in our spacious period dining room –  a beautiful light-filled room situated on the lst floor with lovely views over the square and the elegant Hotel de Ville (town hall).

Breakfast – included in your room rate

Start your day with a fresh continental breakfast including croissants and baguettes from our local boulangerie.  And help yourself to a choice of cereals, fresh & dry fruits, yogurts, fruit purees, orange juice and jams. A cold platter of meats and cheeses is often available too.

Breakfast at Maison BellachonneTo drink you can choose from fresh filtered coffee (filtered decaffeinated also available), English breakfast teas or a range of healthy herbal & green teas. If you require soya or goats milk, we usually have some available, but it’s best to advise at time of booking.

Dinner – advance reservation only at time of booking or by 10am on the day.  Dependant upon reservations, we serve our four-course dinner at 7.30pm (except Friday and Saturday nights when we are happy to recommend local French restaurants which are only minutes’ walking distance away in the town centre)

Our dinner includes starter, main course,dessert with coffee/mints for 25e per person with a free Aperitif.  French wine – white/red/rosé is available from 10e a bottle. Seasonal menus use the best of local produce and our dishes are a fusion of English & French Homemade Lemon cheesecakerecipes – all healthy and tasty, well-balanced and (usually!) low in fat.

Sample menu:  Starter: Sweet potato & coconut soup/Stuffed pear with blue cheese & walnuts  – Main course: Breast of chicken with cherry tomatoes & crème fraiche pesto, home-made potato wedges in rosemary & olive oil & seasonal veg/Turkey escalope with Parmesan & Boulangere Potatoes and green beans with toasted almonds.  Dessert: Crunchy praline brulée with fresh fruit – or Speculoos fresh lemon cheesecake (shown).

We are happy to cater for special dietary requirements, ie. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free, etc. but must be advised at time of booking.

Wines & Champagne

We serve a variety of French wines from some of the best-known regions in France i.e. Bordeaux, Languedoc, Corbieres, Bergerac, Burgundy, Cotes de Roussillon, etc. Choose from a selection of chilled Rosé and White or Red – additional bottles of wine from 10e.

New for 2017:  We now  stock  organic Limousin cider from a local supplier and artisan beers from the micro brewery at nearby Peyrat de Bellac

Bottle of wine with cheeseIf you’re celebrating a special birthday or occasion we can also supply a bottle of chilled champagne on ice in a traditional French Champagne bucket, with two champagne flutes, available in your room on arrival for only 30e per couple. Just contact us to arrange.
